Joe Dougher Masonry Contractor is a family owned and operated masonry and concrete business serving Scranton, Clarks Summit, Dunmore and the surrounding NEPA area. Joe is a licensed (PA Home Improvement Contractor #PA088400) and insured contractor with more than 35 years of experience in the masonry field, and the business has been family owned and operated since 1999. Joe started in masonry at 12 years old, helping his stepfather Dave of Dave Jones Masonry — seven days a week through summers and weekends during school. After graduation he worked with Jim Brunt Masonry, then Hudack Masonry Waterproofing, then spent 8 years in the Bricklayers Union Local 5 alongside Joe and Jimmy Cerminaro of James Gerard Inc. A few years in, he decided to go out on his own. What that history means for a client is straightforward: Joe and his crew do the work themselves, from concrete driveways and paver patios to retaining walls, stone and brick veneer, and custom fireplace masonry. No job is handed off to a subcontractor, and every job is priced fairly and explained in writing before work starts. Clients consistently describe the crew as neat, organized, and honest — and the work as done right, whether the job is a full sidewalk replacement or a single repair. As Joe puts it: if a job is done right, the client may tell one or two people; if it's done wrong, they're sure to tell ten.
